Things that I have learned in the jungle:
– toilet paper belongs in the trash can, not the toilet
– jungle treks at night are super scary
– Peruvian women are incredible
– sloths are the funniest things I have ever seen
– Gringos are fun to stare at ….. every second of everyday
– home is where you sleep at night
– 70 degrees is cold
– sleeping with 200 other Peruvians is something everyone should experience..
– eating food made with river water does not turn out pretty
– showers are very rare … bucket showers are not
– beetles sound like helicopters
– hammocks are WAY more comfortable than concrete floors
– rats are not fun sleeping partners
– electricity is a luxury, not a necessity
– living with 24 other people is a beautiful thing
– Mormons make a mean lasagna and chocolate cake
– family is more than just blood relation
– river water makes anything clean, except dishes
– roosters have no sense of time
– dogs like to bark at anything that breathes
– bread, potatoes, and rice make a great meal
– monkeys will pee on you when afraid
There are so many more things I could add to that list. But there is something else that I have learned that has changed my life.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM.
I am sure you have heard about this freedom. And I pray that most of you have experienced it. But what I learned about this freedom was something I never knew.
We are not just freed from something.
We are freed to something. What is that something?
FREEDOM.
Chist took ok every single sin of the world so that there would be no sin. He become our own sin and he died. He put sin to DEATH. 3 days later, he rose again. But sin did not.
When we live our lives according to those facts and by the love of the Lord, we are FREE from sin. All of this because of how much God loves every single one of us.
Let your Daddy tell you how much He loves you
