The Peru Crew

Where to begin? From Peruvian peanut ice cream to not showering to ministering in a prison, this has already been the BEST experience of my life…and it has only been 7 days!!

FIrst thing first, my team is incredible. It is awesome to be a part of so many people who are on fire for Christ. Already each one of those guys has changed my life. Through these people of Iquitos God is messing me up. Yesterday as I prayed for a man he began to sing in Spanish to our God who is great enough to understand both of us, even when we could not understand each other. Then we went to a highschool. Through testimony and drama, we were able to talk about Jesus in a school that had never before allowed the message in! It was amazing. My heart completely melted as I talked and joked with my beautiful new friends…even though they made of me the entire time because of my poor Spanish and awful accent! It was so good to laugh together; it did not even mattter that we could barely understand each other. God is so much bigger than a language barrier, and He is proving it in my life everyday!!

So, I am in the city of Iquitos until Sunday, and then comes the Amazon Jungle for the rest of the summer! The Lord has moved in so many ways and my team has yet to get into the jungle! I honestly can not wait to see what we all look like in August. Sure, we´ll all smell like death. But there is no doubt we will be more alive than we would have ever imagined. (:

(Oh, and every little kid here runs up to us and shouts "Gringos! Gringos!" This basically means we are random white people. It is pretty hilarious and also the best thing ever, because, my word, these children are ridiculously cute!)
