A challenge

Today is our last day of training in Gainsville, Georgia, and I am super excited to leave for Peru tomorrow! The past two days have already been filled with team bonding, exciting activities, and lots of great food, and I am positive that it will only get better from here. The coolest part of all of the excitement and activity, however, is that it has exceeded my expectations in a way that I never could have imagined, and has taught me a lot both about myself and those I will be working with while in Peru.

On the first day of training, after arriving at the airport,  gathering our baggage, and meeting AIM staff in the airport food court, we proceeded to downtown Atlanta and were given our first group challenge which amounted to the following: go into the streets of Atlanta to reach hearts, talk to the hurting, and change lives. While we walked through our assigned section of the city, I was surprised by the vast number of different people, personalities, and situations that we encountered, and found myself forced to adapt differently to each one in order to provide what was best for the individual. The coolest part was that it was unexpected, and I was reminded that not everything can be planned for, that flexibility is a MUST and, most importantly, that it is always possible to really step out of your comfort zone and make a difference. I am excited to see where God is going to take this, and know it will be to great places.

Please be praying for the team, and know that I am thinking of all of you!
