I told my team yesterday, our third day together, that this
was not what I expected; they were not what I expected. I expected
change in them, but not instant transformation. I expected participants
that wanted to do good things, but who were not ready to bring the fire and
kingdom of God here to the earth. I didn’t expect them to choose into
this, this community, this calling, their daughtership and sonship so
readily. And so I repent of false expectations. Because I’ve seen
God’s glory come down the past three days and I have seen these young men and
women embrace Him with open arms. They are the generation that hungers
and thirsts for righteousness. They do it on the streets of Atlanta,
ministering to the homeless. They do it in the meeting space, dancing in
worship of our King. And they do it in this circle of community, laughing
uproariously and crying out passionately.
I am so HONORED and HUMBLED to serve these young men and
women this summer as we witness the fire of the Lord fall on the Nation of Peru
and in our own hearts.
