Letting Go= FREEDOM

This has been one crazy journy so far and it has only been the beginning. Our first day of camp was amazing and my team became such a family so fast. The girls are so encouraging and amazing helpers in keeping my eyes on Jesus and not missing the people I love back at home and the guys are encouraging in their love for God and being protectors of us girls in Peru-Amazon. It is a beautiful thing to see. :). One thing thst I keep coming back to is the freedom I have in Christ. During training camp one of the speakers talked about being caught up in prisons and that all we have to do is let...

The Peru Crew

Where to begin? From Peruvian peanut ice cream to not showering to ministering in a prison, this has already been the BEST experience of my life…and it has only been 7 days!! FIrst thing first, my team is incredible. It is awesome to be a part of so many people who are on fire for Christ. Already each one of those guys has changed my life. Through these people of Iquitos God is messing me up. Yesterday as I prayed for a man he began to sing in Spanish to our God who is great enough to understand both of us, even when we could not understand each other. Then we went to a highschool....

Birthday Parties in an Iquitos Prison

Hello everyone! As most of you know, I left on the 3rd to meetup with my Real Life team destined for Peru. Training Camp was amazing, from sleeping under the stars with only our sleeping bags on the first night, to learning how to build each other up and better listen for God's voice. The Holy Spirit was truly moving in all the groups there and it really got me pumped and...

Drowning out the Amazon Rain!

So here is my first blog post and it will probably be pretty scattered since I have so much on my mind. First of all, I LOVE it here. The flight over the Andes was so incredibly beautiful and I have decided that I want to go there on my honeymoon. The people live simple lives and are very warm and welcoming. We are spending the first few days in Iquitos, which has about a million people in it and on Monday we will leave for Nauta and the Amazon jungle! Stray dogs roam the streets, piles of trash and sewage pile up on street corners, and kids kick soccer balls around in the streets. It is...

Caught Somewhere Between a Rock and a Tree

The title might imply to your mind that I might be referring to the phrase between a rock and a hard place, insinuating that what I´m going to discuss is going to be negative. In that aspect my title might be a bit deceptive, because in this case the place between the rock and the tree is desirable above all else. It´s the secret place, the place of abandon. The place where I can commune with God and all of my anxieties cease to matter. It´s the palce where I enjoy unity with the Father´s heart and He speaks more clearly to me than anywhere else. The best part...
