Caught Somewhere Between a Rock and a Tree

The title might imply to your mind that I might be referring to the phrase between a rock and a hard place, insinuating that what I´m going to discuss is going to be negative. In that aspect my title might be a bit deceptive, because in this case the place between the rock and the tree is desirable above all else. It´s the secret place, the place of abandon. The place where I can commune with God and all of my anxieties cease to matter. It´s the palce where I enjoy unity with the Father´s heart and He speaks more clearly to me than anywhere else. The best part...

Lessons in humidity

Heat is a powerful force in our world. It hardens things, warms them up, burns them, and purifies them. It has forced us to grow and bond as a team as well as cover each others weaknesses. God has taught me so much in such a short amount of time, its incredible! Im learning about how our living sacrifices burn away the sin in our lives and purify the good things at the same time. Ive learned to truly listen to Gods voice and to act upon that no matter what that means. Like just yesterday I felt God telling me to share an experience that helped mold me to a church and felt no fear in...

Set Free

Well first of all, training camp was AWESOME, and so is Peru. At training camp we did a lot of worship and team building.  It was such a good time to get closer to my team mates, and alos closer to God.        Anyways, yall are probably wondering why the tital of this blog is “Set Free”, just hold on and I will tell you in a moment (uno momento).   You see, at training, God really opened my heart to some pretty nasty things in my life as far as sins that I had not yet come to terms with and grudges that I had not let go of. It got to the point...

Drowning out the Amazon Rain!

So here is my first blog post and it will probably be pretty scattered since I have so much on my mind. First of all, I LOVE it here. The flight over the Andes was so incredibly beautiful and I have decided that I want to go there on my honeymoon. The people live simple lives and are very warm and welcoming. We are spending the first few days in Iquitos, which has about a million people in it and on Monday we will leave for Nauta and the Amazon jungle! Stray dogs roam the streets, piles of trash and sewage pile up on street corners, and kids kick soccer balls around in the streets. It is...

Embarking on a Adventure

The time here has been great! God had given our team a closeness that I have never felt in people outside my family. We have only been together for less than a week, and it feels like weeks. Time is going to go by so fast, it already is.        Speaking to someone who does not know english is amazing, nerve racking, and..amazing. Today we went to a group of high school students in a school and talked to them. After a few people, Lakin, Keith, Jared and Derrick talked we prayed for a few people and then just began to hangout with them and talk. I know...

Safe in Peru!

We just spoke with the team leader and they’ve all arrived safely in Peru.  They are in route to their ministry site and will be settling in these next few days and getting some orientation from their host.  Expect to see some blogs rolling out in the next few days as they find internet. Thanks for all the prayers for this team! Real Life field support team
