The Monkey Bite

Hola.   Peru is amazing! Amazing. I love everything about this place. The city is wonderful and so are the people. We have had so much fun. Riding around in motokars and laughing as we run though 7 red lights and drive on the wrong side of the road. We have got to sleep out on the roof under the stars. I Held a snake, and I got bit by a monkey, but don´t worry I´m alive. We got to go to the zoo and play soccer with some of the friends we made at the church and all of that has been amazing, but even more amazing then that is the ministry we have got to be a part of.   We have...

Everything

The theme lately seems to be “everything”. From how God is using me to how He is growing me, the theme of everything just keeps coming up.        One way that God has used me and others on the team so far is in a skit known as the Everything skit. The chorus of the song the skit is put to is “You´re all I want, You´re all I need, You´re everything. So how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you? Could you tell me how it could it be any better than this?”  It´s an amazing and intense representation of...

Well it is official, I am in love!

Hello hello! So firstly, I am absolutely in love with Peru! We have been here a little over a week and I am going to be sad saying goodbye! I have just really had such a great time here! (Sidenote for Dad– we ride around in motocars here. Which are motorcycles with seat things attached. No doors. No seatbelts. Oh yeah, and no speed limits. Just to give you a slight heart attack). I ate Suri, which is a grub that is so fat and juicy. yumm. Ha ha. I held a baby monkey in a village. And I held a boa at the zoo! ha It kissed me! I have met so many great people on the streets, in the...

Dance party? Umm…yes please

Hola mis amigos!  That´s about the extent of my spanish but I hope to learn more by the end of this trip.   So far our stay in Iguitos has been unbelievable.  From the accomodations (we´re sleeping in beds with mattresses!) to the prison ministry and team time God has been working crazy things.   I don´t have a specific story to share with you so Ã´m going to share an experience that I´ve had over the past few days.  As I mentioned briefly in my post from training camp I´ve been feeling God calling me to just let go and live without any reservations and so...

Life of a Missionary

All I can say is that God has been so faithful to me here in Iquitos and overall in my life.  God has been overwhelming me with His love and I am seeing how God wants to see our generation set free from the bondage that hinders them.  I honestly can say that the past couple weeks have been really rough for me, but even within that God has blessed me in so many ways.  First, God has given me a team of people to pour into and let them pour into me.  Second, as I talk about my past and surrender it over to Christ, he uses it to minister to other people.  With...

Yeah, It´s Hot Hot Hot!

Wow, what a difference there is between here and our country! Of course there are the regular differences, such as culture, traditions, physical lay of the land, etc. But man, it is HOT! Sometimes I feel as if we´re in a sauna 24/7. I wake up in sweat, shower, then start sweating again, and then go to bed in sweat. Sorry for grossing all of you out! I have to laugh. Anyways, Iquitos is a busy city and there is almost constant noise from the street, mostly from those motokars they drive. The buildings are right next to each other, a continuous line of walls block by block, but all very...
