The Beginning

I was so excited when i found out i  got to write to you guys! God has already moved in me so much, and some of the team feel like family already. On our first night we met a homeless man named Clark who was a major inspiration to me because he was handing out PB&J’s to other homeless people. He proved that you can always be doing Gods work no matter your situation. Wrecked For the Ordinary

After I heard these words I couldn’t stop thinking about them. They brought me joy, but also put things into perspective. When I heard “you will not longer be the same at the end of this two months, but you will be wrecked for the ordinary” so many things went through my head. How am I going to  be wrecked for the ordinary? What even is ordinary? What does this require of me? What does this mean? Let Go and Let God!

Last night was our last official night of ministry in Nauta.  We decided to spend it in town doing ATLs (Ask The Lord).  Here is how they work: we split up into 3 groups.  Each group spends some time praying silently and asking the Lord to guide our ministry instead of ourselves.  (I think it is funny how often we forget to allow God to lead us, even on a missions trip.)  After a few minutes in silent prayer we share what the Lord put on our hearts.  Sometimes God gives us things sometimes he does not, but one thing is for sure, he is leading us even if it...

Nauta!

Buenas tardes from Nauta!  We have now been residing in the city of Nauta (Crystal’s home town) since Friday. Tomorrow we will be heading out on the river to the next village. The Holy Spirit is moving in mighty way throughout Nauta.   Although our time here is short, our team has broken up into different zones all over the city, looking to the Lord to lead us to people who either do not know the Lord, or people who simply need some encouragement and love.
