Who are YOU?

Well…how would you answer? For the first 21 years of my life this conversation would look similar to this… So tell me, who are you? My name is Jared Townsend. No no, you misunderstood me. Thats your name. Who are you? Umm…I´m a college student at UCF. Thats what you do though, I want to know who you are! Well I´m a guitarist and athlete! You´re not getting it…thats what you do, not who you are.  I could keep going but I think you get the idea. Our identity is not found in how many years we´ve been around or who we´re...

My Heart Song

Everything in creation has a song, a heartbeat, a rythymn in which everything is designed to work like clockwork according to the design of the master. This song sounds different in every creature and creation in which it resides, but it is all part of the same Heartbeat, the song of the King. COW PIES!!!

Catchy title? To explain: growing up we used to go to my great-grandma´s house for the holidays. She had a ton of cows so whenever I smell cow pies I think of all the good times at my great-grandma´s house. The Ledgend of Whippee Wamba

The Ledgend of Whippe Wamba took place in Florida. The best place on earth, no not Florida as in beaches and shopping, but Florida, Peru…as in jungle treks and toilets with seats. Amen! Florida was my personal favorite village that we visited, it was small, the population being about 80 people- but it was nice.       After spending a time with the kids here, we began to love them to death, very unselfish and sweet kids who did not have much. They had worn out and holey clothes, no toys, just enough food to live, yet they had so...

Identity Crisis Avoided

Who the heck am I? All my life, I have found myself constantly asking that question.  I´d figure it out on my own and then come to realize that I was wrong.  It was a pattern that put me in chains for so long.  But God has a different plan for me. God has a plan for me to prosper. God has a plan for me to rejoice. God has a plan for me to flourish in Him. God has a plan for me to love. God has a plan for me to serve. God has a plan for me. In this plan, I was sent to the Amazon Jungle in Peru.  Not by my own strength, but by His.  And definitely not...
