Dear Friends and Family,
I'm so excited to let you know how training camp has gone before we head out for Peru, where the internet is spotty and we won't know how often we can update you. It has been so great getting to know my team. There are six fellow members and two great leaders. I have really enjoyed getting to know where they come from and their passions and desires for God. We all have such a deep desire to follow where God is leading and bring hope and freedom to the people he has in mind. We have gotten to know each other's strengths, weaknesses, and affinities through some fun, team-building activities: a dance contest, painting a mural, and building a shealter to sleep in for the night. I am excited to continue learning more about them and learning how to most effectivly serve side by side with them. They are all a blessing to be around.
We have also been doing a lot of worship and teachings. I have learned a lot of new things that I need to process with the Lord and wouldn't be able to articulate at this point. You could be in prayer for me to hear from the Lord and know His voice, that God would reveal to me any lies I'm believing or anything I need to surrender to Him, and that I would understand the power of prayer and the power He has given us to use with authority in my own and other peoples' lives.
As we leave for Peru tomorrow, I am thankful for all your prayers, and so excited to be able to go and serve the Living God. Thanks for all the ways you have helped me prepare for this, with your support, advice, and encouragement. I will be sharing more throughout the next couple months, although there may be some long periods of time that we aren't able to communicate.
Incredibly blessed,
Ellie
