My best night of worship…….. so far!

This last sunday when we were in Nauta we were challenged to go to a church, any church that we wanted to, no matter what denomination and it didnt matter how many people went as long as you were at one and than we were going to talk about it later that night during a team meeting. Jared, Keith, Matt, Kevin, Dustin, and I ended up going to a really big Catholic Church that probably had upwards of 300 members and we were the only white people in the church. So obviously everybody knew we were there. Every head turned when we walked in. But then the service started and we didn´t have a translator with us so we didnt understand much of the words in the song but one of the things that I really love to do and I have done alot on this trip is sing my own song from my heart and just put it to the tune of the song regardless of what is being said in the song. It was such a freeing experiance to know that even though I was in a church that doesn´t exactly share my same beliefs (and here catholicisim is very different I guess than in the states? I dont really know in what ways but i have been told that it is.) I could still worship my Lord and Savior and get intimate with him and almost get intimate with him in a way that I couldn´t before because instead of knowing what is being said I got to just rest in his presence and really get in tune with what he is speaking to me. I am not saying anything about going to a christian service not being as good just that it was really awesome to be able to praise our God  in our way when not everyone else was.

We also last night spent an evening get together with some Mormon missionaries and it was a really good time with some really good people. We had some really good LAZAGNA, GARLIC BREAD, FRUIT DRINKS, and CHOCOLATE CAKE!!!! Needless to say it was a good night with some good food. It is hard because I dont know exactly where they stand as far as their salvation goes but good thing that it is not up to me but that it is up to God to decide because his mind is so much higher than mine and I just had a good time loving on some fellow men and women regardless of their status.

Well I will probably have one more blog before we leave Iquitos but I just want to say thank you for all the prayer that I know has been poring in over our team that all of you have been offering up and just all of the love and support you have shown us. Till next time.
