God has given me more Joy over the past week than I have had in my entire life! It is a different kind of joy too, not one that is there when I am excited, but also there when I am alone with God and the world is quiet!
I mentioned in my last post that I was going to expect big things from God, but honestly, He has constantly proven to me that He wants to give me more than I could even ask for!
One of those gifts came today at the Men´s prison we are visiting. This morning I gave a sermon on repentance, played worship music with my friend Grant, and then prayed with and over the prisoners there. And then suddenly, there was a spirit of celebration in the room! I think Josh is writing about the dancing, but I want to impress on you all what a gift that was to us, and what passion filled that room!
Another great source of joy is the team. There are about 21 of us here, because we picked up 3 translators when we got here. I have been blown away by each one of them. I thought I would run into good people on this trip, but I did not expect to be surrounded by such passionate, loving, and powerful children of God! Everyday God brings me a new conversation which pushes me to pursue my God even more! Moms and Dads, I cannot say enough about your sons and daugters, everyone of them is a blessing in my life!
Finally , Iquitos is beautiful and wonderful! I am in love with the people, the motocars, the colors, and the fire in the hearts of the people here! We have had plently of time to roam the streets, and each day brings a new wonderful adventure!
I will write more as soon as I can, but to my family and friends back home, I love you, I love you all so much. I thank you for the support over this past year, and for just being so amazing. Especially my family, I miss you, and I can´t wait to share with you all that God has been doing!
