I LOVE IT HERE! Iquitos is so amazing and I just love riding around on the little motocar taxis. The team is bonding so well and everyone does such an amazing job of lifting each other up. I have never felt more in touch with the Holy Spirt until this trip. They said this would be life changing but I had no idea!
Between travel time and planning time we really only started our ministry just yesterday. We met with the youthgroup leaders at a church and prayed over them and planned a youth service for that night. After the morning meeting some other muscians and I went and practiced with the church praise team and were able to sing three songs with them at the evening service. It was so much fun! Some of the people on our AIM team (and one of our translators) put together the “everything skit” to the lifehouse song called everything. If you have not seen it before I encourage you to youtube it. Everyone did an amazing job with it and it was very powerful and emotional.
We also did the skit at a church service for the men´s prison this morning. We led a few worship songs as well and I gave the sermon. I incuded parts of my own testimony in it as well and it was about the prodigal´s son. I focused on forgivness, repentance, and grace. This was a first for me! I was completly led by the Holy Spirit in everything I said and I believe that what God said through me had an impact on many of the prisoners. It was so scary and out of my comfort zone…but thats what this trip is all about! Afterwards the preacher told me that this was only the beginning for me and that I would preach all around the world and that if I am ever back in Iquitos to come visit them!! It was such a blessing to hear that and be encouraged in that way.
I am so happy to be here and to be used by the Lord in any way he can use me!
We have a week with the prison then it´s off to the jungle and down the river for us!
Keep us in your prayers!!!
Miss you mom and dad
