My name is Jared Townsend.
No no, you misunderstood me. Thats your name. Who are you?
Umm…I´m a college student at UCF.
Thats what you do though, I want to know who you are!
Well I´m a guitarist and athlete!
You´re not getting it…thats what you do, not who you are.
I could keep going but I think you get the idea. Our identity is not found in how many years we´ve been around or who we´re related to. Its not where we´ve been or what we´ve done. Its found in
what was done for us!
This is great news! We are sons and daughters of the LIVING GOD who loves us and cares for us! There is nothing you can do to change who your earthly father is and there is nothing we can do to change who our heavenly father is.
Things on Earth change a lot. Skills fade. People pass away. Appearances change. Accidents happen. If we´re finding out identity in what we do, who we associate with, or anything that is changeable then we´re setting ourselves up for failure. For our foundation to be tossed aside at a moments notice.
So lets find out what it truly means to find our identity and value as heirs to God´s inheritance. I´m still learning what that looks like but I´ve gotta say, its a freeing journey and one that will leave you with a firmer foundation. So let me ask again
