Beginning the Adventure

Dear Friends and Family, I'm so excited to let you know how training camp has gone before we head out for Peru, where the internet is spotty and we won't know how often we can update you. It has been so great getting to know my team. There are six fellow members and two great leaders. I have really enjoyed getting to know where they come from and their passions and desires for God. We all have such a deep desire to follow where God is leading and bring hope and freedom to the people he has in mind. We have gotten to know each other's strengths, weaknesses, and affinities through...

The water is brown…and we’re still in Georgia!

Hola!! I'm excited to update y'all on the adventures I have already been on just being at training camp. It has come and gone just as fast as I could imagine. I have already felt God stirring me up on the inside and I have already experienced amazing courage and strength through God. Some fun adventures I have already encountered.. Brown water and I don't just mean a little brown, I mean 100% not even see through brown, and we are still in Georgia. Luckily it was only the toilet water and only for a day, so it wasnt bad : ) But I definietly think this is God's...

Our Providing God

There is so so much that has gone on these last couple of months, I dont know how I could ever sum it up in a short blog. I've slept on concrete floors, the wooden benches of boats, random peoples' hammocks, worn church floors, and outside under the jungle stars, and I've loved every second of it! I've made many new friends and grown exponentially more than I thought I could in two months time. I've learned more in Peru than years of schooling could ever teach me. Best of all, I've seen God...

The Rest is Up to You

I was thinking about how long it has been since I have left for this trip.  I was reminded of the day that I left for training camp.  That day, I once thought, was one I would always hate.  While leaving to come on this adventure I was scared, anxious, upset, and lost.  I was a girl who needed to be a freed woman, yet had no clue.  I leaned on my own strength and my own understanding.  I served and loved God without knowing how much He loves me and how much He wants me to persevere.  All these things sound pretty awful don´t they?  Yeah, well...

You Don’t Know What You’ve Got Till It’s Gone

That title is so true. We are told this almost every day of our lives. But do you really believe it? I didn´t, but now I do. Here are a few things that we´ve gone without here in Peru: Beds Running water Communication Privacy Personal space Electricity These are just a few things. But we went without so much more than that. I learned on this trip that I am so spoiled in America. We have so much and we take it for granted. I´m not saying that it´s bad to have everything that we have, it´s just bad to take it for granted. God has taught me to be grateful for everything… Including...

My best night of worship…….. so far!

This last sunday when we were in Nauta we were challenged to go to a church, any church that we wanted to, no matter what denomination and it didnt matter how many people went as long as you were at one and than we were going to talk about it later that night during a team meeting. Jared, Keith, Matt, Kevin, Dustin, and I ended up going to a really big Catholic Church that probably had upwards of 300 members and we were the only white people in the church. So obviously everybody knew we were there. Every head turned when we walked in. But then the service started and we didn´t have...
