Early Rapid Growth

When we all arrived in the airport 3 days ago, none of us really knew what to expect of each other. We didn’t know how we would grow along side each other or what that would look like. Personally I knew we would all grow to be great women and men of God over the next 2 months while ministering to the people of Peru. I knew there was a lot to grow in, so it would take a long time to get there. As it turns out, God had greater plans for many of us. He plans to send us out as different people as who we were back home. In this past few days I have experienced and witnessed an unexpected...

New Beginnings

This trip might have to be considered the best thing that has happened to me (other than getting saved)   Ummm and yes it is only day three!   I have been changed so much in a short period, and I never knew that 18 people could come to be this close in such little time. God is already moving in a powerful way and each one of us are experiencing his love and presence in a deep sense. During our time in Atlanta we met a man named “Two Shadows” It was a Friday night and this man was stuck in some serious depression. After a few of us spoke truth into this man...

Expectations

When I decided to join this trip, I had no idea what to expect. I had heard good things about it from friends, I heard many positive things about mission trips, but I also was told to be careful in how I approached it.  As some of you know, the last year, and the last few months in particular have been very challenging to me in many ways.  So when I set foot on the plane, I’ll admit I was worried. After my brother dropped me off, I started to wonder what exactly I had gotten myself into. I had deep hopes in my heart for what God would do with this...

Paw-sitive Surrender

On our first night here in the AIM HQ in Gainesville, we had our first evening worship service. The service was about surrender, letting go of the things in our lives, past, etc., that were looming over us and clouding our spirits. We each received an egg and wrote on it the thing(s) we felt we needed to surrender, and gave up the egg once we were ready to do so. Most only wrote one or two words, I wrote so many that I covered the entire egg. There were so many things that Satan was trying to use to hold me back, from actually being able to give my all and my whole heart to this mission. I...

Falling in love with God

Before I came on this trip I asked the LORD to have me fall in love with Him and be surrounded by people who are in the same boat. I mean, I already love Him but I want more — I want to fall in love with Him. I want to have such a deep relationship with Him that almost none can fathom. Training camp has been an amazing experience. However, connecting with my teammates throughout this experience has been even more amazing! I shared with some of my teammates that I know it was no coincidence that I have been chosen to be a part of this particular team. They are all either...
