Freed to Be Free

Things that I have learned in the jungle: – toilet paper belongs in the trash can, not the toilet – jungle treks at night are super scary – Peruvian women are incredible – sloths are the funniest things I have ever seen – Gringos are fun to stare at ….. every second of everyday – home is where you sleep at night – 70 degrees is cold – sleeping with 200 other Peruvians is something everyone should experience.. – eating food made with river water does not turn out pretty – showers are very rare … bucket...

Trip Review

Well we are back in Iquitos and it feels like a week or two, not two months, since we were here. The last two months have been nothing like I expected and my world has definitely been rocked!  My perspective  and views on many things have been stretched and challenged. In this blog, though, I am only going to talk about our trip and in a later blog I will review my personal and spiritual experiences. The Ledgend of Whippee Wamba

The Ledgend of Whippe Wamba took place in Florida. The best place on earth, no not Florida as in beaches and shopping, but Florida, Peru…as in jungle treks and toilets with seats. Amen! All my life, I have found myself constantly asking that question.  I´d figure it out on my own and then come to realize that I was wrong.  It was a pattern that put me in chains for so long.  But God has a different plan for me. God has a plan for me to prosper. God has a plan for me to rejoice. God has a plan for me to flourish in Him. God has a plan for me to love. God has a plan for me to serve. God has a plan for me. In this plan, I was sent to the Amazon Jungle in Peru.  Not by my own strength, but by His.  And definitely not...

I Feel Like Huck Finn

Buenos dias con todos! Gracias por leyendo mi blog. (good day everyone! thank you for reading my blog) and greetings from Nauta! it feels so strange to have internet after so long. Part of me honestly didnt want to check it, didnt want to concede the wild part of me thats been alive and thriving within my jungle atmosphere. Its really interesting how much your perspective on something can change so quickly. When we first went into the jungle, we had an epic ride on a pretty big river barge. In big letters on the side was painted Capicidad 150 personas, no mas. I would estimate there were...
