we missed the motorkars

We spent the last month (since iquitos) out of communication with our biological families while turning into our own little family unit. We all thought we were so close back right after training camp, but little did we know we still had alot of our team left to meet and love. When we first got to the airport in Iquitos I met Cesar. I was carrying my purse, my big packand my hard case guitar. This ´strange´ peruvian man came up and tried to help me with my guitar, and my thoughts were thiscrazy peruvian is going to try and run away with my guitar. So i replied No and avoided eye...

God is Good

Hi|||   So the last month has been one of the most amazing times in my life. I have seen God come alive in me in new and exciting ways, and I am learning so much. I have fallen even more in love with Jesus over the past two months than I ever thought I could, and I want nothing but to live out a radical life for his glory. That being said let me walk you though a month in the jungle of peru.   so a month ago we embarked out on our jungle journey. None of us knew exactly what that ment but we were all ready and willing to be used by God and to make his...

Ants and Paper Whales

One day while we were in the village of Sapuena God showed up and provided what I needed.  So a group of the team had gone to a house at the very edge of the village to talk to the family about a church service.  While we were there we prayed for the man that lived there because he had some health problems.  I had been having some doubts about how God heals and had been struggling in general with healings because they didn´t make sense to me and I didn´t understand why He healed in some situations and why He didn´t in others.  So we were praying for this man when I...

Into the Wild

Hello all!   Today we head into the jungle for a month, so I thought I would post a quick update.   Last time I made a post about Manly Things, the things that us men were excited to experience during our jungle adventure. I wanted to add to that post, but on a more serious note.  I believe I can speak for all of us men here when I say that God is changing us. Before this point, we were growing, searching, and asking what exactly it means to be a man. Is it how much hair you have on your chest? Do you qualify by having enough scars and epic stories? Does it mean that...

I love my family!

What a family in Christ I have here in Peru! They are such a blessing, each one of them. If even one of them wasn’t here, our whole group dynamic would be drastically different! I am so thankful for each of them and that all of us would get to cross paths and live life together. How awesome is the community we find in our Savior! All of the boys, Grant, Josh, Eoghan, and Patrick, they are wonderful brothers to all of us ladies. They take such good care of us and are truly servants. How refreshing it is to be surrounded by these godly young men! And the ladies, all twelve of us, work...
