Words?

the past two months have for sure been the time of my life. if seen things i´ll probably never see again, done things that can only be done in the jungle, and experienced God in a mind blowing way. I could probably come close to describing what i´ve seen physically around me in Peru with words and pictures, but i don´t think i can even come close to describing what i´ve experienced spiritually. It cannot be put into words. I guess the best way I can show you spirtually what i´ve experienced is by releasing this new life living...

COW PIES!!!

Catchy title? To explain: growing up we used to go to my great-grandma´s house for the holidays. She had a ton of cows so whenever I smell cow pies I think of all the good times at my great-grandma´s house. Now to explain the relevance to Peru: This last Friday and Saturday we took a bunch of the youth from the area to a place called Aurora (I´m not sure if I spelled that right). And there were a lot of cows. So there´s where my title comes from. That has nothing to do with this blog though. One major thing that God taught me here in Peru is who I am. My mom loved...

I wanna Go Deeper, But I Dont Know How to Swim

Several days ago I woke up dissatisifed. Dissatisified with where I was with the Lord, dissatisfied with the status quo, dissatisfied with my level of discipleship, in short a lot of things. I began to pray that the Lord would take me deeper into His heart.  This is a dangerous prayer, and God loves it when we pray dangerous prayers. Without a risk taking personality in the spiritual realm, there is a tendancy to get complacent really fast. Complacency is the opposite of growth. There is no growth without pain. Let that mess up your theology; I know its messed with mine. Sometimes the...

Wake Up Sherry!

If anyone has ever been bored out of your mind, the natural thing is to find something to do. Well, for my team, everytime we are bored we play the game ¨¨Mafia¨¨. You know you have nothing else to do when you sit down for a game that takes HOURS to play. We sat down to play the other night and our AMAZING translator Cesar was the narrator. Well one of the lines he has to say is ´´Sheriff wake up´ In spanish, the double f sounds like ie so when he would say his line it would come out as ¨´Sherry wake up´´ We laughed so hard all...

Caught Somewhere Between a Rock and a Tree

The title might imply to your mind that I might be referring to the phrase between a rock and a hard place, insinuating that what I´m going to discuss is going to be negative. In that aspect my title might be a bit deceptive, because in this case the place between the rock and the tree is desirable above all else. It´s the secret place, the place of abandon. The place where I can commune with God and all of my anxieties cease to matter. It´s the palce where I enjoy unity with the Father´s heart and He speaks more clearly to me than anywhere else. The best part...
