Hola!
I'm currently in Toccoa Falls, Georgia on my last day of training camp. It's been quite the crazy week for me and I am ready to roll out to Peru! (Give me a little slack here, because I'm not a very good blogger!!)
Just want to give you a little recap on what went down here in Georgia at the training camp. We got here Friday night (June 1st) and that night we just had supper and a worship night. It was a super chill night. However Saturday and Sunday were full of activities for team bonding.
Some of the crazy things they had us do were create a shelter for the night out of two tarps and a couple strings of rope. We had to stay all night in this tent as a team and it actually was pretty warm (I was in the middle!!). I did wake up a couple times with ants crawling in my mouth, which wasn't so pleasant!
Another activity that they had us do was a more personal activity. This activity was about things God was calling us to sacrifice in our life for Him. It was such an awesome activity, because I gave up my family, my friends, my summer, my possessions, my comforts… quite a bit to be here. We had to take this log and carry it a couple miles with our sacrifice written on it. I had to travel uphill through the woods and ended up getting attacked my a bunch of ants. I'm really starting to not like ants..especially the ones in Georgia. They are vicious.
We will be flying out tomorrow and as far as I know we have VERY little internet access, but I will keep you all posted as much as I can!!
Here's a couple pictures of my team!
