Expecting the unexpected…

…sometimes just doesn´t  cut  it. Every so often there is something that happens that goes beyond that and catches you off guard. Yesterday we got on a large boat expecting to be on it for a day and a half with our supplies to go to a village down the river for ministry. Knowing Peru we weren´t surprised when the boat was still at the dock 3 hours after it was supposed to leave. However. The unexpected struck when we learned that the boat had been delayed for 24 hours! Woah! Not only that but the boat was so much more crowded than we thought! Despite these...

You eat food with such….Passion.

We have only been here for….so many days, I don´t even know and God has done so many things through us. As we do our best to bless others, he blesses us through them. Only they have so little and are so anxious to bless us, it is amazing. We went to the prison for the last time the other day, I connected with this lady and began to talk to her with what I could say, which wasnt much, but she didnt care, she was just glad to have a friend. It felt so good, despite the language barrier we talked, she was 34, has 2 girls, one was 2...

Peru Refreshment

We were hot…sweaty. It had been days since most of us had taken showers and the thin film of greasiness which is ever so constant covered us all. I looked around the room and saw a group of young men and women drained…tired…but not yet to the point of exhaustion or fatigue. I saw it in their faces and felt it in my heart as I continued to strum Matt´s guitar. I tried to engage my heart into it but didn´t quite have an abundance of energy…I felt His leading back into rest and was relieved that we were about to go there. Earlier in the day Brittany had come...

Pouring into Jesus

Last night I lay in bed after being resting in His presence and being fed by my team. I thought about how we´re becoming a culture of honor here in Peru and how God had been blessing both myself and the team through a quickening process of grace. I thought about Jesus and what His life looked like…and then a thought hit me. He chose to let His disciples pour into Him. Jesus, after 30 years of living, decided to reach the world through a group of disciples. There were more than 12 that accompanied Him and not all that were called became part of the 12. Likewise, there were...

Birthday Parties in an Iquitos Prison

Hello everyone! As most of you know, I left on the 3rd to meetup with my Real Life team destined for Peru. Since then, in such a short amaount of time, my team has become my family and we are all already so close! I truly believer that God put together an amazing group of people for this trip! Training Camp was amazing, from sleeping under the stars with only our sleeping bags on the first night, to learning how to build each other up and better listen for God's voice. The Holy Spirit was truly moving in all the groups there and it really got me pumped and...
