Blessed

Hello everyone! I just want to let you all know that we made it to the jungle without any complications, and that I am enjoying it very much. It is so different from my beloved Wisconsin northwoods, but so beautiful as well. The jungle kids are so precious and so much fun. We did a three day VBS and hung out on Sunday after church, too. The people at the churchschoolcamp where we are staying are also very dear to me. We have been here five days now, and it has been such a blessing getting to know them. They have such servant hearts and so much joy. Since beeing here, God has filled me with...

Si Christo me salvo, mi corazon limpio!

We have arrived safely in Peru and had absolutely no problems getting here! Praise the Lord! We are in a city called Nauta and have been staying at a church/school called Comlimento Renevacion (sp??). It has already been such an experience already and the Lord has been faithful to provide for our every need and to speak to us clearly. The people living at the church here have been so hospitable to us and have become part of our family! One of the most encouraging things to me is meeting fellow believers and saints in other parts of the world and joining in community and vision with them....

I Worshiped With A Drunk Man

How would most churches respond if there was a man sitting in the pews, or rather laying in the pews, so drunk that he would repeadedly fall off the pew and end up sprawling in the dirt? Let's back up a step? What would YOU do/think if you saw this in your church? Would questions like "why is this dude even here?" pop up in your head? Or would you be overwhelmed with compassion for someone who is caught up in a counterfeit, a cheap version of peace, a search for meaning that led to the most overwhelmingly lonely space on the face of the earth? It's a legitimate...

just mowin´ the lawn…

This was me and the teams experience the last few days in Nauta, esp. some of the guys who did most of the work. We ´mowed´the grass of the camp grounds that we were staying at, and mowing the grass means taking a machete and completly ridding the ground of any dirt. It was a difficult task and took three days worth of mornings maybe four, to clear the whole area. Cesar had never even heard of a lawn mower.    Lawn mowers are a luxury. And so is almost everything else we have in America. Life is good here, I love it! Nauta was my favorite next to Florida, yes,...

My Heart Song

Everything in creation has a song, a heartbeat, a rythymn in which everything is designed to work like clockwork according to the design of the master. This song sounds different in every creature and creation in which it resides, but it is all part of the same Heartbeat, the song of the King. Every one on earth has their own song that God put within their soul when He created them. Sometimes it takes us a lifetime to learn how to release this song. We try to release it by singing the songs of others, but this just leaves us unsatisfied. Theres a soft whisper within each of our hearts...

A time of fellowship and relaxation!

So since we have been here we have been just go, go, going and I was talking to Benny about it and it is just so amazing the amount of people that we have reached and the amount of Gods work we have done. It is truly hard to believe that we have only been here for a little over a week. We have bonded so much over the one week that we have been together as well and that can only be a product of devine nature because it is usually hard to get a group of kids to talk to each other at times much less get as close as we have already got and it is still really just the beginning! But I did not...
